Metal
Smiths, Drummers and Fun!
Like Stomp Music? You'll
Love the Anvil's Ring!
Area metal workers will demonstrate
their techiniques in hot metal, cold worked metal and other media
to the beat of the hand drums. When the first smiths began to work
out in the desert lands they had drummers who helped them keep a steady
rhythm. This drumming was considered an honor given to the smiths
who were thought of as holy.
Today, we just do it for fun!
Come on out Saturday, June 13 from 12 noon until 5 where the ring
of the hammers on metal will mix with the primitive rhythms of the
drum. Join in if you feel inclined. Clap your hands, click some sticks
or bring your own drum to join the heavy metal celebration.
Some of the metal artisans who
will be attending are: Mark Schwenk of Frog Valley Artisans, Tom Boone
of Boone's Forge, Daniel Stuart of Iron Antler Forge and Carol &
Jean-Pierre Hsu of Hsu Studios.
